OEE dashboards that line operators actually look at
Most factory dashboards end up gathering dust. Here's the design pattern we've used on six UK lines that broke the curse.
Walk a UK factory floor and you'll see the same thing: a 65-inch screen running an OEE dashboard nobody glances at. We wanted to know why.
Operators told us it was the wrong unit of time. They don't think in shifts, they think in the next changeover. We rebuilt our dashboards around that frame, with a single 'next 90 minutes' panel front and centre. Engagement went up tenfold on the lines we tested.
It's a small idea but it's changed how we approach all of our manufacturing work.
